Site Info > FAQ
1. Who supports RTB financially and technically?
RTB is a 100% volunteer effort - both technically and financially - by a small
group of romance authors. As traffic has been growing in leaps and bounds, though,
they are finding their resources stretched thinner by the day. Click here
to find out how you can help.
2. How does one become a columnist?
Suggestions for columnists are submitted by RTB staff members anonymously for
a polling process, and new columnists are added by invitation only. Suggesting
yourself as a columnist through the contact form is essentially a waste of time.
If you want to be a columnist, your best bet is to catch the blogosphere's attention
and interest by keeping a blog of your own with regularly updated and thought
provoking posts.
3. What is the difference between a regular and a guest columnist?
A regular columnist must have a regular blog. We often invite guest columnists,
usually industry personnel or individuals with unique perspectives who do not
blog regularly, to post thoughts on the genre.
4. How does one become a guest columnist?
The same way one becomes a regular columnist: by invitation only.
5. Why are there so few reader columnists?
At the time of RTB's launch, the staff found only a few columnists to approach.
Reader blogs were difficult to find, but now that they are more visible, we have
been inviting more of them to join us as columnists. Some have accepted, but there
are still several that turn us down for various reasons, mainly because of not
having enough time for such a commitment.
6. Why are there more author than reader blogs on the sidebar?
None of the listings are submitted by the RTB staff. They are either submitted
by the owner of the blog or one of their readers. The balance of the listings
is contingent solely on outside submissions.
7. Why isn't my blog listed on the sidebar?
Because you haven't submitted it!
8. How do I submit my blog for listing on the sidebar?
Use this link: http://www.romancingtheblog.com/blog/contact.php#add
9. Why was I listed on the sidebar, but now I'm not?
Blogs are removed if they are inactive for a month or longer.
10. How do I make suggestions?
Use this link: http://www.romancingtheblog.com/blog/contact.php#contact
11. Can you group the author blog listing into genres?
We are currently considering this option and, if possible, how to best implement
it.
12. Why do my comments not always immediately appear?
RTB has filters to prevent spamming. Comments are moderated throughout the day,
however, so if the spam filter holds your comment, it should never take more than
an hour before your comment appears. This is an unfortunate aspect of blogging
these days, and the security measures are in place to make visiting RTB a more
pleasant experience.
