I've always been a reader. But since getting my Kindle last Spring, my book buying has gone up exponentially! The books cost less and I can buy them at 11pm while wearing my PJs. Great for those nights when you can't sleep but just finished the last book in the house.
I'm lookin gofrward to more new authors and genres. I hope you'll make them available on Kindle.

I tend to find authors via paperback, then search their names to see if they have a 'backlist' in ebook format. When they do, it's very exciting.

I read so much more now that I have my iPhone. It's way easier than lugging a book into the car, standing in line at Wal-Mart, waiting for the kids to get out of school. I always have my phone, so a book is just a few seconds away. My only complaint would be that I hope the ordering process is streamlined over the coming years, with possibly a standard format. I get so confused about which reader needs which format (e.g. can I read the book via Stanza or not). I've read a lot of new to me authors, especially via anthologies. Shorter stories are especially nice to keep handy for when I don't have a lot of time to invest.

Digital is growing and yes, it will eventually be big.

What makes this announcement exciting is the combination of the editorial with the digital publishing. I think a lot of readers, and maybe even authors, haven't trusted digital publishers to provide the same level of quality, right or wrong. This removes that fear from the equation.

Since I started reading ebooks I'm always finding new authors that weren't in print but may later on be published by an NY Pub.

Oh yes. Since getting my Astak EZReader in late April, my reading has changed dramatically. I'm buying a lot more books, because the authors I've discovered aren't available in my library system.

I've had an e-reader for about 6 months now, and I love it. I still buy a ton of non e-books, but I'm more willing to try new authors, new genres, etc on the e-reader because the cost is usually lower, less risk of buying and not enjoying, and they can be more of a spur of the moment purchase based of a blog or a review from somewhere. I don't see that changing for me in the near future. I love to buy books, I love my digital reader, and I use them both daily. I'm excited for summer 2010 and to see the new authors and new books that will be offered on Carina!
