I think your blog is very successful in walking that line of self-revelation and professionalism while maintaining a conversational personal tone that holds interest. It's a talent!

Gennita, (Love your books.) It is a tad scary to realize that editors and agents drop by blogs. Gulp is right.

Ursula, Thank you. :) Sherrilyn is a very astute lady. I have seen the types of blogs you mentioned. They are definitely interesting.

PLEASE DON'T CHANGE YOUR BLOG! Your honesty, and candor ,and insight are refreshing. You're one of the blogs I make a point to visit because you're not afraid to take on difficult issues that most if not all writers struggle to understand, and you always do it with style and class. I do think there are writers who could use a face lift: they have blogs that attack other writers, or editors, they use them as a soap box for politics to the point of absurdity, or they use them as a form of mass therapy broadcasting all manner of inner workings and paranoid rants that would better be left for professionals, vs. fans. Most of these folks have crashed and burned. Sherrilyn Kenyon gave a great workshop on publicity and discussed blogs. She suggested don't say things you wouldn't want your worst enemy to use. I think that's good advice. Your public face is great, I'd leave it be, and be yourself.

Thanks Camilla! Sorry to hear you were burned in the past. I've managed to avoid that so far. (Knock on wood.) There is definitely a fine line to be walked when it comes to blogging. The important thing to remember is that your blog is PUBLIC. A lot of bloggers tend to forget that little fact when creating an entry.

I agree with whomever said there has to be a balance between being yourself and not writing a blog that's permeated with pessimism. I myself struggle with the tone of my blog because I've been burned in the past with being too open about myself and my writing. :???: Hopefully it'll work out with time. Great post Jordan!
