The courage to live the dream.
Did I have the courage to live mine? If I was going to do what I love, I had to put my money where my mouth was.
Someone once said, Do what you love and abundance will follow, or something similar. So, I did it. I resigned from my job of 19 years and it feels wonderful. It’s all right, it didn’t make any foolish decisions but I DID need more time.
So, I leave my job in exactly one month. December 16th to be precise, and as the clock ticks relentlessly on, the more excited I become.
Trapped colleagues look at me with something akin to envy, and disbelief, and say negative things like, Are you sure? What if you fail. What if. what if…
I just smile and tell them it feels right. I know I’ve done the right thing.
I’ll need the time. I have three submissions “out there”, a trilogy in the pipeline as well as one-off stories that I desperately want to tell. Then there’s the six-book series that … You get the picture.
So here I am counting down to life’s great adventure. A fulltime writer of romance novels. It even sounds good.
Wish me luck.

Good for you, Jean! Best of luck and many, many Blessings.
I wish you all the best and from one would-be published writer to another…write on, girlfriend!
Good luck and an army of plotbunnies – and sales.
I hope to get to that point in my own life… and I’m envious, but only in the most positive way…
Good luck!
Congratulations on your new life, Jean!

Congratulations! My last official day of work was October 28th. It’s scary and exhilarating.

A better question is, what if you succeed beyond your wildest dreams?
Good luck! I admire you for having the courage to make the leap. It’s hard to leave behind the “security” of the day job and step out into the unknown. It’s something I’m not able to do yet, but I’m working hard at arranging it so I can.
Good luck!!
Hi Jean! I know EXACTLY what you are feeling. I quit my 13 year career in the California Legislature nearly a year ago and it’s the best thing I’ve ever for myself, my kids, and my writing.
I am totally pulling for you.
(I will say that I’m busier now than when I worked full-time outside of the house! So be prepared!
)
Good luck, Jean!
A job is a job. But your life, you never get back to do again once you’ve lived it.
