For those who haven’t heard, author Marianne Mancusi returned home from RWA National to find that lightning had struck her home and burned it to the ground. She lost everything.
The ladies at Literary Chicks want to do what they can to help, and they need you.
From the Literary Chicks’ website (with permission from columnist Alesia Holliday):
HOW YOU CAN HELP…
1. SEND BOOKS OR GIFT CERTIFICATES DIRECTLY TO MARIANNE.
Marianne Mancusi
PO BOX 8003
boston, MASS 02114
Books are great, but gift certificates are better. She’s going to have to do a lot of shopping, so sending a few bucks on a gift certificate will be a huge help.
2. DONATE CRITIQUES FOR THE ONLINE AUCTION. The Literary Chicks have got a lot of signed books, but the critiques will get more at auction. If you’ve got a couple of signed books, you can send them to Marianne directly as well. If you would like to donate a critique, e-mail lani@literarychicks.com with “Marianne” in the subject title.
3. LINK TO LITERARY CHICKS ON YOUR WEBSITE. Funnel everyone to their site and that will answer most of the questions, and get Marianne the fastest support.
When the auction is up, they’ll let you know and you can help them publicize to aspiring writers looking to get critiques from agents, editors and published authors.
Thanks to the Literary Chicks and to everyone else who has supported Marianne’s cause on your blogs or website, or through donations. It’s wonderful to see the online community come together in times of need!

What kind of gift cards/certificates would be best? Thanks!
Hi, Marty. Things like Target or Walmart or Sears where she can replace household things, or even bookstores or grocery stores!
Yes, Target is the gift cert of choice because you can buy almost anything there! You can even do it all online and e-mail her at marianne@mariannemancusi.com. I am so grateful and warmed by all of the terrific support from everyone for Marianne during this difficult time. She has pics up at her blogsite of the ashes of her house – but luckily she is moving into a new apartment today (with only the contents of her suitcase and whatever else people are donating).
Thank you all so much!
hugs,
Alesia
I have donated three tarot readings (Hero’s Journey for characters) to the Ebay auction. I saw her house pictures. Horrific. I am so glad she and the pup are safe! I don’t know her at all other than her writing, but I can’t imagine not helping out!
